in VOLUNTEER SERVICE
Canada's voluntary sector touches the lives of millions of Canadians, through the delivery of critical programs and services, advocacy, education, and the involvement of citizens in building a civil society. Each year, more than 7.5 million people volunteer in support of causes they value, demonstrating care for others and building stronger communities.
Voluntary organizations accomplish their goals through their human resources. Individuals come together to make a positive change in their communities, and are a precious resource to the voluntary sector. Many voluntary organizations have roots in the imaginations and passions of individuals to make a difference in their community. Individuals can become involved in organizations as board members, staff or volunteers. Each individual - whether staff or volunteer - contributes to the organization, thereby achieving its purpose or mission.
Community Volunteer Connections has worked in collaboration with community partners across the North Fraser Region for more than 25 years, as a service provider for effective Volunteer Sector Management and Development. CVC offers individuals and organizations affordable, practical and innovative training/workshops, which allow for personal and/or professional lifelong learning. Our trainers have access via our resource center to a diverse collection of the latest training techniques and workshop tools addressing the broad spectrum of sector issues, trends, and topics.
