Founded in 1973, this organization is dedicated to providing social, recreational, and educational programs and services for the betterment of the Japanese Canadian community and Canadian society. Activities include: Seniors Wellness - exercise & massage, gateball and Hot Japanese lunches. Outreach - hospital, care facility, and home visitations, outreach Japanese lunch programs, Senior's homebound drop-in program and daily telephone check for seniors. Education- Caregiver's support group, English & Japanese conversation classes fro seniors and new Canadians, Legal information workshops & literature. Culture and Recreation - arts & recreation, bus trips, yokyoku singing, karaoke, special events, performances & concerts. Services include: direct information and referral, language-based transportation and escort services, translation, interpretation, and application assistance, counselling and crisis intervention, immigrant settlement, orientation and cultural adjustment, income tax filing for seniors etc.
