This mailing list is for discussion of forests, parks, trails, beach access, or other conservation issues on the lower Sunshine Coast.
This is a fairly public discussion list - only subscribed addresses can post messages directly, but anyone (other than spammers and trolls) can subscribe. Once you've subscribed, anything you send to [email protected] goes to everyone on the list.
Another way to post messages, or to read and reply to past messages, is to log in here and use the Post and Archive links on the left. If you haven't logged in before the Help link above will explain how to get a password.
What's potentially confusing is the difference between subscribing and logging in. Subscribing means adding your name to the mailing list; if you're already receiving sc-greenspace emails, you're already subscribed and you can reply or post new messages with your email program. Subscribers who log in to this site can also use their web browsers to do the same things, as well as look through past postings.
There's a lot of Subscriber Options you can choose once you've logged in. Particularly useful, if your mailbox is overwhelming you, is the "no mail" Reception Mode. This means the mail server doesn't send you anything, but you can still post whenever you want and check the web site when you want to see what others have posted.
There's more information under Getting Started on the Mailing Lists help page.
To help collaborate effectively:
- Please treat each other with respect
- When you would like to have a personal discussion, or if you feel offended by a particular message, please send a message to the individual involved only
General Guidelines:
- Please don't keep the entire body of the original text in your replies, unless it's necessary for context. For example, if a lot of people are adding to the same thread of conversation over a few days, everyone doesn't need to repost the entire conversation from the beginning.
- Use a descriptive Subject header to identify message content. That way, people can more easily decide which messages they want to read.
- When you respond to a message, keep the original subject intact unless it is no longer relevant to your message content.
